ABOUT US

In 1978, the Keyes family established six of their forty acres of land as a mobile home facility, Keyes Mobile Home Park, in response to the demand for long-term rental space for mobile homes. Youngest brother Herbert Keyes and his wife, Joan, were designated the operational managers of the business. They consulted the entire family whenever significant decisions about the park were required: major improvements were made to the property in 1982 (a game room, store and Laundromat were added).  Due to a slump in the economy the operations were shut down in 1984.

In 1993, at the beginning of the casino construction north of Kinder, the mobile home park was reopened as Mobile City Campground to provide out-of-town contractors suitable space to park mobile homes and to house their labor force. Recreational vehicles were also becoming at that time a popular means of touring the country and a few full-time RVers visited Mobile City Campground.

By 1995, the number of RV reservations had increased to such a point that the Keyes family converted the property to a facility totally dedicated to RV travelers. In 1998 the name Mobile City Campground was changed to Quiet Oaks RV Park to reflect the new market focus and identify the atmosphere of the park.  A clubhouse was added to accommodate camping clubs which became a large portion of their business.

In August and September of 2005 hurricanes Katrina and Rita hit and caused a housing shortage. Quiet Oaks changed their focus to house FEMA trailers to house those that became homeless.  The number of sites where increased to over 70 sites.

Quiet Oaks RV Park have made numerous changes to attract the road traffic and camping clubs.  More 50-amp sites, fish pond, rose garden, WI-FI throughout entire park, online reservation and over all landscaping.

We would like to be your destination park to meet your extended stay need with reasonable rates and a haven for camping clubs.
